Blood Drive in Honor of Bandit the Biker Dog

To all those who sent well wishes for Bandit when he was ill, and then passed away. Some of you may have already received an email from me, and some may have not. But I wanted to make sure that you all know about the upcoming event, in honor of my dog Bandit, the Biker Dog. Bandit stood for one thing, making a difference in people’s lives. Whether it was spending time with military families and children at special functions put on by the Armed Services YMCA, or to make special visits to the San Diego Hospice, or Children’s Hospital, even entertaining thousands of San Diego residences who were displaced by the 2007 wild fires and had to relocate to the Qualcom Stadium which was the make shift evacuation center….where Bandit spent 3 days with these folks. Bandit was out there trying to make a difference, and now I would like to invite you to help Bandit continue his legacy.

On March 21st starting at 9 am, there will be the first annual “Bandit the Biker Dog Memorial Blood Drive”, being held at San Diego Harley Davidson, benefiting the San Diego Blood Bank.

I am asking you to come support this event / blood drive and come donate 1 pint of your blood. You too can help Bandit make a difference, the difference of life.

For those who want to donate and will commit, I strongly suggest that those people make an appointment, as all donors with appointments will be honored first. I am not going to discourage anyone from just showing up and deciding at the time they get there to donate, but just want to make sure, those “walk-ins” may have a little wait.

There will be movie passes given out donors, “Burrito Bucks” given out to donors, complements or Chipotle’s Mexican Grill, Harbor cruise passes given out, as well as a mobile massage van for those who want a free massage while waiting or after they donate. Pat & Oscars will be there as well feeding all donors (from 10am-1pm). There will be the live band, FREE BBQ for all. Helen Woodward animal center will also be on site with there mobile adoption and Bow Bow Beauty Shoppe will be there giving complementary pedicures and grooming for all dogs who come with the donating owners. And there will be Hornblower Cruises & Events harbor cruise passes!

Very simple to set an appointment. You can: Go to http://www.sandiegobloodbank.org/, click on “appointments” and then provide the sponsor code: HOG. >From there, you will find this particular blood drive, and then set your appointment.

The other way you can make an appointment is to email me at mark@smoothridehome.com Send me your first name, last name, zip code, phone # and email address, as well as your preferred starting time. I will then make the appointment for you, and call you back with confirmation.

Simple as that. It is only 1 pint of blood, that can be the difference between life and death for our friends, neighbors and loved ones.

Please forward this email to all your friends here in San Diego. I want this to be a huge success.

Thank you
